Tabitha Hocking
Tabitha has always been naturally drawn to massage. Starting as a child, where she would help family members with pain relief by giving them massages. She has always loved helping ease pain and tension for others.
She also connected with relaxation massage from an early age, and was lucky enough to receive treatments growing up. She noticed the benefits of working with the nervous system to ease tension and stress, and just how important receiving touch is as a human being.
Inspired by sports massage and Myotherapy treatments that helped Tabitha recover from injuries and maintain health as a physical being in her teens and twenties (AFL boundary umpire, yoga, cycling, running, hiking), she decided to study Relaxation Massage Therapy, graduating with a certificate in 2014 from MIMT. After this she worked for a couple of years providing relaxation massage. Wanting to learn more, she decided to continue her studies in Myotherapy, graduating from RMIT in 2016.
In a session with Tabitha, you will find her warm and welcoming. She takes a holistic approach, discussing external contributing factors, and empowering you to take steps outside of the treatment room to reduce your pain or tension. Her treatments offer a wonderful blend of Therapeutic Massage and Myotherapy (getting stuck into the areas that need it), and a flowing restorative experience. She uses a combination of Trigger Point Therapy, Relaxation Massage, Sports Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Dry Needling, Cupping, Stretching and Exercise Prescription. Many of her clients first came to her with a specific issue, after which they decided to continue seeing her for the benefits they felt of having a regular tune up.
Tabitha’s other passion is as a practicing fine artist. She creates abstract paintings and drawings, and earrings made from her paintings. You can check out her work on instagram @tabi_hocking. Outside of her work, she loves spending time with her family, and getting into nature and down to the beach whenever possible.
