Dr. Laura Johnson
Laura first developed a passion for health and wellness while working in the fitness industry. As a personal trainer, she enjoyed meeting people of all ages and fitness levels and helping them to achieve their health goals. Her work as a PT inspired an interest in human anatomy, movement, and injury prevention. This naturally led to her vocation to become an osteopath. Laura completed a Bachelor of Health Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) with Distinction at RMIT University.
Laura enjoys treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions and is passionate about providing holistic healthcare to her patients. Alongside osteopathy, Laura has been working as a qualified yoga teacher. In conjunction with her background in fitness, yoga teaching has informed her approach to patient care. As well as providing manual therapy, Laura focuses on incorporating evidence-based exercise, mindfulness-based activities, and pain education into her treatments. Overall, Laura aims to collaborate with her patients so that they can work together to create an individualised management plan that will optimise their physical and mental well-being.
Laura uses a combination of osteopathic manual techniques, including soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, myofascial release, and dry needling. Laura is delighted to be a part of the Rhythm Health team where each and every patient is supported throughout their journey to wellness and recovery. When Laura is not treating as an osteopath, she is practising yoga, training at the gym, spending time with friends, or exploring in nature.
